Juuni TaisenWe learned earlier this past winter season that the Juuni Taisen property got the nod for an anime adaptation and now we’ve got some distribution set for it. Crunchyroll has revealed that they’ll be streaming the series as part of the fall 2017 season. Regional availability for it will be firmed up closer to the series broadcast. The novel from writer NisiOisin and artist Hikaru Nakamura is a prequel to the Oogiri work and it came out in 2015. Naoto Hosoda will be directing it based on the series composition by Sadayuki Murai. Chikashi Kadekaru is handling the character designs for it and Graphicina will be handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Nobuhiko Okamoto as Usagi, Shun Horie as Nezumi, Yuuichirou Umehara as Ushii, Hiromi Igarashi as Tora, Takuya Eguchi as Tatsumi (Elder Brother), Kousuke Toriumi as Tatsumi (Younger Brother), Hikaru Midorikawa as Uuma, Cho as Hitsuji, Saori Hayami as Sharyu, Ayane Sakura as Niwatori, Tomohiro Nishimura as Dotsuku, and Yoko Hikasa as Inou no Shishi.

Plot Concept:  The record of the bloody battle between the twelve proud warriors—

The 12th Twelve Tournament that gets held every twelve years…

Twelve brave warriors who bear the names of the signs of the zodiac fight each other for the lives and souls.

The participants are twelve very strange warriors: “Rat,” “Ox,” “Tiger,” “Rabbit,” “Dragon,” “Snake,” “Horse,” “Goat,” Monkey,” “Rooster,” “Dog,” and “Pig.”

The victor of this tournament gets to have one wish granted, whatever the wish may be.

The one wish they want granted—

Who will be the final survivor?

Whose tears will flow on the bloody battlefield filled with conspiracy and murder?

A soul-shaking battle royale is about to begin.
