We’re catching up a bit on the Hulu side of things with the summer season as Anime Expo and then SDCC caused us to miss a few things. Hulu beefed up its summer 2017 offerings recently with the addition of In Another World With My Smartphone for viewers. The first three episodes are now available here in its original Japanese with English subtitles and with new episodes added weekly.

The book, which comes from Patra Fuyubaru and Eiji Usatsuka that has been released by J-Novel Club, has eight volumes out digitally as of March 2017. The anime adaptation will be directed by Takeyuki Yanase based on the series composition by Natsuko Takahashi. Toshihide Masudate is on board as the character designer and chief animation director with it being produced at Production Reed.
The opening theme is “Another World” as performed by AOP while the ending theme is “Junjou Emotional” as performed by several of the voice actresses in character.
Plot Concept: Touya Mochizuki was accidentally killed, and as an apology, God allows him to be reborn in a fantasy world and will grant him any one wish he desires. And so, Touya chooses to keep his smartphone in the next world. In his second chance at life, he befriends many important figures and comes across the world’s secret. He inherits the legacy of an ancient civilization and travels around nonchalantly while possessing powers that rival this world’s kings.
