It’s time to start getting into the mood for some Puzzles & Dragons X anime as Funimation has now dropped the first trailer for the first part on home video. The DVD/BD combo release of the first half of the series, which is getting a second season, is scheduled for September 26th, 2017 priced at $64.98. The bilingual set will include the first thirteen episodes of the show and three minutes of extras in the form of the clean opening and closing sequences.
Directed by Felecia Angelle, the English cast includes Josh Grelle as Ace, Justin Briner as Lance, Tia Ballard as Devi, Alexis Tipton as Tamazo, Dawn M. Bennett as Hal, Sara Ragsdale as Rena, Sarah Wiedenheft as Sonya, and Ian Sinclair as Nyudo.
The Japanese cast includes Takuto Yoshinaga as Ace, Tetsuya Kakihara as Lance, Tomoko Kaneda as Tamazo, Chika Sakamoto as Devi and Sora Amamiya as Sonia.
The opening theme song will be performed by UVERworld while the ending song will be performed by Shiori Tomita.
A manga adaptation is in the works that arrived in Coro Coro Comic on April 15th, 2016 from Momota Inoue.
Plot concept: Dorogoza Island is rich in “Drop Energy” that players can use on friendly monsters. Once strong enough, they can face enemies in puzzle wars. Winners reap rewards, but what happens to the losers? Only the brave can take on these monstrous challenges!
