Japanese distributor Amuse has set a new complete collection for the Mangaka-san to Assistant-san property after originally bringing it out as six singles back in 2014. The new release is a single Blu-ray that will be priced at 9,720 yen and will street on December 20th, 2017. The show is shorter than usual with episode running times so with the full run of the TV and OVA material it’s still just about 168 minutes, making it an easy fit on a single disc.
Check out our review of the series.
The show is based on the manga of the same name by Hiroyuki, who created the Doujin Work manga that previously saw adaptation. The series is coming from the manga of the same name that began in 2008 which has run ten volumes total. A sequel series kicked off in 2013 that finished up in 2014 with just one volume. The anime adaptation is being produced by studio ZEXCS with Takeshi Furuta directing with Aki Itami and Titomi Tsuruta providing the character designs.
The cast for the series is pretty strong as well as Yoshisugu Matsuoka will be playing Yuki Aito, Saori Hayami will take on Sahoto Ahisu, reuniting them from their time on Sword Art Online. Arisa Noto will be taking on Mihari Otosuna while Rie Kugiyama will be portraying Sena Kuroi, Yuka Iguchi will be Rinna Fuwa, Minami Tanaka as KMatome Minano and Miku Ito as Suino Sahoto. While a lot of shows have the cast perform the opening and/or ending themes, this one will have StylipS performing them.
Plot Concept: A life description about the mangaka Aito Yuuki and his assistant Ashisu Sahoto. Aito doesn’t understand the feelings of the characters in his stories so he asks Ashisu to help him. Ashisu would do anything for the work—she will even let him touch her breast so he will know how it feels like.
