2 min read

Kimba HeaderThe 1965 anime TV series Kimba the White Lion is gearing up for a Blu-ray release with German distributor previously revealing a Nipponart pickup for the show. The distributor is bringing out the first half of the series, twenty-six episodes, to the form that was originally planned for May 26th, 2017 but never solicited to retailers. That’s now been taken care of and it looks like it shifted to the first set coming out on September 29th, 2017 while the back half is now set for October 27th, 2017. The Blu-ray is priced at 64 euro while new DVD editions are priced at 55 euro. The company has previously released the full series on DVD in the region where it was in its German language version only and we’re expecting the same here.

Plot Concept: From Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astro Boy, comes Kimba, one of the “first-generation anime classics” to reach American TV, and the very first Japanese animation to be broadcast in color, in 1965. Fans have long remembered its catchy theme song, spectacular designs, pioneering animation techniques and gentle stories.

Join Kimba along with his pals Pauly the Parrot, Daniel Baboon, and a charming assortment of other loveable characters, as he follows in the footsteps of his late father, the great lion king, making the jungle a safer, better place for everyone to live. Contains all 52 color episodes presented in order according to Osamu Tezuka’s original storyline.
