Now, this one is kind of surprising in a way. Nozomi Entertainment has previously licensed and released the first two seasons of Junjo Romantica (and is in process of releasing it on Blu-ray for the first time after a few DVD editions over the years) but the third season when it arrived last year ended up being streamed by Funimation, who we figured would be the ones ending up releasing it. While they continue to stream it they also began streaming it over on Crunchyroll as part of their partnership, which has the show being on both services.
And now it looks like it’s Nozomi Entertainment that will be bringing it out on home video – but in a sign of the changing times it looks like it’ll be a Blu-ray only release. No firm dates are set but it’ll be coming out in 2018 in Japanese with English subtitles.
Property concept: Junjo Romantica 3 continues the ongoing story of three couples: The Romantica couple – college student Misaki Takahashi and his tutor, Akihiko Usami, the stormy Egoist couple—Professor Hiroki Kamijou, a tsundere, doted on by Nowaki Kusama, and The dramatic Terrorist couple—divorced literature professor Yo Miyagi, and his younger lover, Shinobu Tatasuki. It’s complicated. But so worth it.
