Anime Strike Adds ‘Lights of the Clione’ For Summer 2017 Anime Lineup

Clione no Akari VisualThe debut of the anime adaptation of the web novel series Clione no Akari is set for July 12th, 2017 in Japan and now it’s been confirmed for overseas streaming. Amazon’s Anime Strike service will be the home for it and they’ve confirmed a July 12th, 2017 streaming premiere under the name Lights of the Clione for it. It’s directed by Puro Ishikawa based on the scenario by Takeshi Onaka. Studio drop is handling the animation production for it.

The Japanese cast includes Sayuri Matsumura as Minori Amamiya, Shunya Ohira as Takashi Aoi, Natsuko Hara as Kyouko Tsukihashi, Rico Sasaki as Nanami Yukine, Riho Iida as Yuna Nagino, Aina Suzuki as Kaho Ichinose, Akari Kageyama as Sayaka Hamasuna, Yuuki Fujita as Gen Shisozaki, Misaki Ohashi as Kousuke Okishima, Moa Tsukino as Shouta Sunayama and Kana Aoi as Sakura Inoue.

The opening theme song is “Clione no Akari” by aki while the ending theme song is “Sora wo Tobu Kaze” also by aki/

Plot Concept: Minori, who has been bullied in all her life, on account of being sickly, poor, and so on, is befriended by Takashi and Kyouko, who want to see her real smile. However, before that could happen, Minori is hospitalized far away from the other two. After two months, Takashi and Kyouko receive a mysterious, anonymous message about a summer festival in the neighboring town.
