We learned last week that the One Piece franchise was going to get a new special with One Piece Episode of East Blue: Luffy and His 4 Crewmates’ Big Adventure, which is set for an August 26th, 2017 premiere in Japan. The next piece of the announcement has arrived with the first visual for it that gives us a look at our core crew of characters. The special is one that’s nicely timed as this year marks the 20th anniversary of the manga.
The special is being directed by Takashi Otsuka based on the script by Tomohiro Nakayama. Masayuki Sato is handling the character designs and serving as the chief animation director.
