The latest sales rankings have arrived out of Japan for the week ending June 18th, 2017 to show us what’s selling in the realm of manga and light novels. it’s a bit of a quieter week this week with only three new titles breaking the 100,000 mark with Barakamon, Mix and Magi. A lot of what we get in the top ten are new volumes of ongoing series that are generally in the 50,000 range or under for their first few days or week but will build some nice numbers overall, such as Baby Steps and Magi: Sinbad no Bouken. Similar to most weeks, there’s hardly any first volumes charting in the top range here as people wait to see what’s popular over time in chapters before going all in on a first volume.
On the light novel side the latest Sword Oratoria hits some good numbers at almost 33,000 in its debut but it can’t beat out the latest Mahouka in its second week that added another 43,000 sales. Eromanga-sensei had a good second week with another 14,000 for its latest though that didn’t inspire a noticeable uptick in past volume’s performance.
