Funimation brought out in conjunction with Crunchyroll the Free! Iwatobi Swim Club series as a DVD/BD combo bilingual set back on May 9th, 2017 and the promotion for it continues on. The latest thing added to the mix is their streaming of the opening theme song “Rage On” from OLDCODEX, which is definitely a good way to get your Friday morning going with a bit of energy. While it’s not subtitled due to music rights issues related to streaming, it’s a very appealing looking sequence with some great animation and design work to enjoy.

Plot Concept: Nanase Haruka loved to be in the water – loved swimming. In elementary school, Nanase Haruka, Tachibana Makoto, Matsuoka Rin, and Hazuki Nagisa attended the same swimming class together. Time passed, and as Haruka was living an uneventful high school life, he suddenly encountered Rin again. Rin challenged Haruka to a race and showed him how much stronger he had become. Soon enough, Makoto and Nagisa also rejoined the group, and along with a new classmate, Ryugazaki Rei, they established the Iwatobi High School Swimming Club.
