One show that captured a lot of attention upon its first release back in the late 90’s, particularly as it was riding the early energy of the DVD format in its first two years, Serial Experiments Lain has now found itself a new place to be viewed. Crunchyroll’s partnership with Funimation now has the streaming service running the full show in its original Japanese language with English subtitles for some intense, moody, and creepy binge viewing. With this being an older license, one that was originally picked up by Pioneer Entertainment, it’s availability is limited to members in the US and Canada only.

Plot Concept: Lain Iwakura appears to be an ordinary girl with almost no experience with computers. Yet the sudden suicide of a schoolmate and a number of strange occurrences conspire to pull Lain into the world of the Wired, where she gradually learns that nothing is what it seems to be… not even Lain herself.
