FAUNA AND THE DRAGONEWTS’ SEVEN KINGDOMS CoverSeven Seas Entertainment has picked up a new license for what looks to be a pretty intriguing series with Fauna and the Dragonewts’ Seven Kingdoms by Kiyohisa Tanaka. Fantasy material still comes as a kind of a rarity so there’s definitely appeal for it here. The publisher is setting this for a print run in single volumes forum with the first one now scheduled for a January 16, 2018 release priced at $12.99 USA / $14.99 CAN.

“This is a great fantasy series, and we love the race of dragon people Kiyohisa Tanaka has dreamed up,” says Seven Seas Marketing Manager Lianne Sentar. “The intriguing dynamic of a Dragonewt adopting a human provides the backbone to an exploration of a rich fantasy world.”

Plot concept: In a fantastical future, humans are no longer the dominant species–dragons have evolved to become rulers of the world we once knew. One day, an archaeologist from the Dragonewt race who’s fascinated with his studies of the past finds a young human girl. He decides to adopt her, giving her the name Fauna, and together they explore their magical world of the Seven Kingdoms.
