1 min read

Dark UniverseIt’s been talked about a good bit with it initially supposing to have kicked off with the Dracula film from a couple of years ago before that got soundly ignored, but Universal has now named its shared universe for its monster film reboots with Dark Universe. The first film in this is the upcoming release of The Mummy which comes from director Alex Kurtzman and stars Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella and Russell Crowe, who is taking on the role of Dr. Henry Jekyll.

With that getting it all underway, it’s been revealed that Johnny Depp will be playing The Invisible Man and Javier Bardem as Frankenstein’s Monster in The Bride of Frankenstein. The latter is the next film up on the production schedule with a planned February 14th, 2019 release date under director Bill Condon.

To get people to check out the original works with a new collection of films, Universal put together a sizzle reel with Danny Elfman composing the theme for it.
