While Crunchyroll is doing the simulcast for Kenka Bancho Otome, Funimation has been producing some simuldub material for the show as well so English language fans don’t have to miss out on the latest series and buzz. With this series getting a few episodes out there, we now have our first clip from it that gives us a good taste of the leads for it.
The property will be adapting from the game as it uses the same characters and adds new ones with a planned ten-minute running time per episode.The series is being directed by Tokuaki Saitou based on the series composition by Natsuko Takahashi. Majiro is on board as the character designer with Project No. 9 and A-Real handling the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Hibiku Yamamura as Hinako Nakayama, KENN as Totomaru Minowa, Shouta Aoi as Takayuki Konparu, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Rintarou Kira, Tetsuya Kakihara as Yuuta Mirako, Tomoaki Maeno as Houou Onigashima, Tsubasa Yonaga as Hikaru Onigashima and Takashi Kondou as Haruo Sakaguchi.
The English dub is directed by Felecia Angelle based on the scripts by Josh Grelle. It stars Apphia Yu as Hinako Nakayama, Austin Tindle as Totomaru Minowa, Christopher Wehkamp as Haruo Sakaguchi, Jarrod Greene as Houou Onigashima, Joel McDonald as Takayuki Konparu, Orion Pitts as Rintaro Kira, Ricco Fajardo as Yuuta Mirako, Terri Doty as Hikari Onigashima, Alejandro Saab as Toshiya Murata, Brandon McInnis as Kenta Shimamura, Daman Mills as Sakuya Nakajima and Stephen Fu as Tora Tanaka.
Love Desire will be handling both the opening and closing themes with “Love Sniper” and “Gankou Signal.”
Plot Concept: Orphan heroine Hinako Nakayama suddenly reunites with her twin brother Hikaru, who asks her to take his place at Shishiku Academy, a private boys school infamous for its rough-and-tumble student body. Being the child of a powerful Yakuza family, the Onigashima, Hikaru is obligated to become the leader of Shishiku Academy. Hinako will have to hide her identity and fight to control the school. How will Hinako deal with a school full of handsome boys who let their fists do the talking rather than talk about their feelings?
