Third ‘Fuuka’ Anime DVD/BD Release Artwork Arrives

Warner Bros. Japan is handling the home video release plans for the winter 2017 anime series Fuuka and has set a pretty standard pattern for it. With the third volume arriving in a couple of weeks we now have a look at the finalized cover and the packaging design for it ahead of its May 24th, 2017 debut. The twelve episode series is getting a six-volume release that began on March 29th, 2017 where the DVDs and Blu-ray’s are both priced at 7,000 yen each.

The series was directed by Keizo Kusakawa based on the series composition by Akashiro Aoi and character designs from Honda Yoshino.

The Japanese cast includes Okitsu Kazuyuki as Kazuya, Kobayashi Yuusuke as Haruna Yuu, Hayami Saori as Hinashi Koyuki, Lynn as Akitsuki Fuuka, Saitou Soma as Mikasa Makoto, Komatsu Mikaku as Sara Iwami, Kanako Mitsuhashi as Suzuka Akitsuki and Daisuke Nakamura as Yamato Akitsuki.

When it comes to the music, the opening theme song was performed by “Hedgehogs”, which is an in-show group, with the song “Climber’s High.”

While Seo’s previous series Suzuka finished back in 2007, he came back with a new series serving as a sequel to it with Fuuka that began in February 2014 that Crunchyroll has been doing simulpub work with and that Kodansha Comics has been bringing out digitally to other platforms.

Plot concept: New meetings always come suddenly! The protagonist, Yuu Haruna, moves into a new town where he meets a somewhat strange girl who doesn’t have a cell phone. The girl, Fuuka, seems to have a strange allure that draws people to her, very much like a summer breeze. Looks like Yuu has been caught up in one wild love story!
