2 min read

Kancolle Header 4-18Funimation has lined up another Crunchyroll property for release with KanColle as it’s been solicited for a June 27th, 2017 release as a DVD/BD combo pack and things have been moving right along with it. We’ve had a good number of cast announcements in the last few weeks and now we have the first trailer, albeit at just 50-seconds, that gives us a taste of how the actors are taking to their roles.

The English cast includes Felecia Angelle as Fubuki, Leah Clark as Yuudachi, Cherami Leigh as Mutsuki, Brittney Karbowski as Ayane Sakura, Natalie Hoover as Ayane Sakura, Jad Saxton as Ayane Sakura, Jeannie Tirado as Kaga, Tia Ballard as Akagi, Elizabeth Maxwell as Nagato, Morgan Garrett as Mutsu, Madeleine Morris as Ooyado and Christina Kelly as Yamato.

The series was animated at studio Diomedea with Keizo Kusakawa directing based on scripts by Jukki Hanada. Character designs are done by Naomi Ide and Mayuko Matsumoto, who also served as the chief animation directors. The show stars Sumire Uesaka as Fubuki, Saki Fujita as Akagi, and Yuka Iguchi as Kaga.

Plot concept: Fubuki is a Special Type Destroyer who has just been assigned to the Naval District. With a grand total of zero battles under her belt, she’s sure to sink fast under the pressure of expectation. Luckily, she’s grouped with Torpedo Squadron Three, and they’re ready to support their new comrade. Together, they’ll prove they have what it takes to defend the ocean and win it all for humanity!
