The winter 2017 anime series Seiren has its home video release plans being handled by Pony Canyon for the Japanese market and they’ve set a standard schedule for it. With the first volume out earlier this month, where we now have a larger look at the artwork, the second volume is coming up on May 3rd, 2017 and the packaging preview for that has arrived. The twelve episode series is getting a six-volume release that began on April 5th, 2017. The DVDs are priced at 4,500 yen each while the Blu-ray’s are set for 7,000 yen each. The show was directed by Tomoki Kobayashi based on the series composition from Kisai Takayama, who also did the original character designs. Those were adapted by Naoto Hosoda. The animation studio behind the project is Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ.
The Japanese cast includes Aya Sakura as Hikari Tsuneki, Juri Kimura as Kyouko Touno, Shiori Izawsa as Miu Hiyama, Shiroi Mikami as Makoto Kamizaki, Honoka Kuroki as Ruise Sanjō, Shino Shimoji as Tōru Miyamae, Manami Numakura as Tomoe Kamita, Atsushi Tamaru as Shouchi Kamita, Ryouta Asari as Ikuo Nanasaki, Saki Fujita as Yukie Takato, Yukiyo Fujii as Yoko Kikuchi and Juri Nagatsuma as Toka Maruishi.
In terms of the theme songs, Hanako Oku performed the opening theme “Kimi no Hana” while the ending theme songs will alternate with each of the voice actresses performing a different one as each episode focuses on a different girl.
Plot concept: Shoichi Kamita is an ordinary high school boy, who is faced with the university entrance exam and worried about his future. This campus romantic comedy, “Seiren”, which means honest in Japanese, depicts his pure relationship with three different heroines. Each story is the unique and mutual memory between him and the heroine.
