With the Kirakira☆Precure A La Mode series broadcast underway, the home video release plans have been set as well to accommodate the different audiences. The series is getting three Blu-ray box sets priced at 23,000 yen each while the DVDs will be done as twelve volumes priced at 3,800 yen. The release schedules are pretty different as well with the DVDs being done monthly and the twelve-episode box sets coming out quarterly.
The show was directed by Kohei Kureta and Yukio Kaizawa based on the series composition from Jin Tanaka. Marie Ino served as the character designer for it. A manga series runs alongside it that began in February as well from Futago Kamikita.
The Japanese cast includes Karen Miyama as Cure Whip/Ichika Usam, Haruka Fukuhara as Cure Custard/Himari Arisugawa, Tomo Muranaka as Cure Gelato/Aoi Tategami, Saki Fujita as Cure Macaron/Yukari Kotozume, Nanako Mori as Cure Chocolat/Akira Kenjō, Mika Kanai as Pekorin.
The opening theme song “SHINE!! Kirakira ☆ Precure a la Mode” will be performed by Yuri Komagata while the ending theme song “Let’s La Cooking ☆ Showtime” will be performed by Kanako Miyamoto.
Plot concept: Ichika Usami is a second year middle school student who works in her family’s cafe, Kirakira Patisserie. One day, she meets a spoiled lamb fairy named pekorin who tells her evil monsters known as Henteko have been stealing “Kirakiraru”, the energy that resides within sweets and desserts. Ichhika then becomes a pretty cure and, with four other girls, they form the kirakira precure a la mode to fight the henteko and protect the sweets.
