‘March Comes in Like a Lion’ Gets Second Anime Season

March Comes In Like A Lion Season 2Fans of the fall 2016 anime series March Comes in Like a Lion have been getting ready for the ending of it this month and now have some welcome news as a second season has been revealed. NHK will be bringing that out in the fall of 2017, though no episode count has been revealed yet.

The series has Akiyuki Shinbou directing it at Shaft with Nobuhiro Sugiyama as the character designer, Yasuhiro Nakura working on the art setting with Seiki Tamura as art director while Toshiki Kameyama worked on sound direction. Yukari Hashimoto is handling the music for the series.

The Japanese cast includes Nobuhiko Okamoto as Harunobu Nikaido, Kengo Kawanishi as Rei Kiriyama, Ai Kayano as Akari Kawamoto, Kana Hanazawa as Hinata Kawamoto and Misaki Kuno as Momo Kawamoto.

The opening theme song will be performed by BUMP OF CHICKEN and they’ll also be providing the ending theme song with the “Fighter” piece that they collaborated with on previously.

The eleventh volume of the manga series landed in October 2015 where its opening week numbers were at 370,000 units sold. The series from Chika Umino began back in 2007 and has won several awards over the years.

Plot concept: The protagonist is Rei, a 17-year-old shogi player. He lives by himself, does not have a family, does not go to school, and has scarcely any friends. Among his acquaintances is a family, which consists of a young woman, Akari, and two young girls, Momo and Hinata, and who also keep a numerous number of cats.
