With Kaze Deutschland getting closer to the release of the first volume of Kantai Collection that was previously solicited for an April 28th, 2017 debut, some more information has now come out. The series is getting separate DVD and Blu-ray releases, though language options are still not known, but now more volumes have been scheduled for it. With it planned as four episodes per disc we now know that the second volume will arrive on June 30th, 2017 and the third and final on August 25th, 2017. The first volume comes with a slipcase to hold all three volumes.
The show stars Sumire Uesaka as Fubuki, Saki Fujita as Akagi, and Yuka Iguchi as Kaga. The series was animated at studio Diomedea with Keizo Kusakawa directing based on scripts by Jukki Hanada. Character designs are done by Naomi Ide and Mayuko Matsumoto, who also served as the chief animation directors.
Plot concept: Set in a world where humanity has lost control of the oceans to the “deep sea fleet,” the only hope to counter this threat are the Kanmusu, a group of girls who possess the spirit of Japanese warships. The story revolves around Fubuki, a destroyer who comes to the Chinjufu base to train with other Kanmusu. Watch as their stories unfold!
