Tubi TV Begins Streaming ‘HARUKA: Beyond the Stream of Time – A Tale of the Eight Guardians’ Anime

harukaTubi TV has added another series that has been out of print and unavailable for some time with the 2004 series HARUKA: Beyond the Stream of Time. The project saw a limited home video release back in 2005 from Bandai Visual with high-priced volumes. The full twenty-six episode series is now streaming on Tubi TV in its original Japanese language with English subtitles as it was never dubbed in English.

Based on the original manga by Tohko Mizuno, the series was directed by Aki Tsunaki working from the series composition by Junko Okazaki. Kenichi Ohnuki worked on the character designs and it was animated by Yumeta Company.

The Japanese cast includes Akira Ishida as Abe no Yasuaki, Kazuhiko Inoue as Tachibana no Tomomasa, Kouki Miyata as Shimon Nagareyama, Naozumi Takahashi as Inori, Shigeru Nakahara as Fujiwara no Takamichi, Shinichiro Miki as Minamoto no Yorihisa, Souichiro Hoshi as Eisen, Tomokazu Seki as Tenma Morimura and Tomoko Kawakami as Akane Motomiya.

Plot concept: Akane Motomiya and her friends Tenma and Shimon are pulled by a demon into another world, where Akane becomes the Priestess of the Dragon God. The people of this world tell her that she is the only one who can stop the demons from taking over; meanwhile, the demons want to use her power for their own ends. Luckily, Akane has the Hachiyou, eight men with powers of their own who are sworn to protect the Dragon Priestess.
