Masaaki Yuasa next project is getting closer to release with Yoake Tsugeru Lu no Uta, which translates as Lu Over the Wall. The feature film is planned for a May 19th, 2017 debut and TOHO has brought out yet another quick teaser for the film that gives us a brief bit if time pairing up the actors with their characters and showing off more of the highly appealing animation design. With Masaaki Yuasa directing, it’s based on the screenplay by him and Reiko Yoshida. Yoko Nemu provided the original character designs while Nobutake Itou adapted them and serves as the animation director. The film is being animated by Science SARU studio.

The theme song for the film is “Uta Utai no Ballad” by Kazuyoshi Saito.
Plot concept: The story centers on Kai, a gloomy middle school student whose life changes after meeting Lu, a mermaid.
