When we first started talking about how Netflix was going into Japan and how that was going to change the nature of the players involved in bringing anime out, especially to worldwide audiences, you knew they were going to tackle properties that can really reach that audience. While Devilman may not be a huge property in North America where it does have its fans, the original Go Nagai work and many others from him are very popular in Europe and elsewhere. So seeing that Netflix Japan was listing a new Devilman series really isn’t a surprise. There are no real details on it at the moment and the listing for it on the North American side (not available through searching on the site) just works with the familiar concept of the original 1972 series.
Plot concept: A demon possesses a boy’s dead body to do evil. But after falling in love with a human girl, he has a change of heart.
