Sports anime may have a tough time in the North American anime market on home video but it does pretty well in Europe. Kaze France has announced their pickup of the Days anime series to bring some soccer fun to fans there. The distributor has confirmed the acquisition of the series but doesn’t have any firm plans at the moment beyond bringing it out on separate DVD and Blu-ray releases in the near future. The summer/fall 2016 series is working through its Japanese release where it’s getting nine volumes to cover the run with it set to end in June 2017, so any French release would come sometime after that at the earliest.
The series was directed by Konosuke Uda with character designs produced by Kazuto Nakazawa and was animated at MAPPA.
The Japanese cast includes Takuto Yoshinaga as Tsukushi Tsukamoto, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Jin Kazama, Daisuke Namikawa as Hisahito Mizuki, Takuto Yoshinaga as Tsukushi Tsukamoto, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Jin Kazama, Daisuke Namikawa as Hisahito Mizuki, Mariya Ise as Chikako Ubukata, Ayane Sakura as Sayuri Tachibana, Katsuyuki Konishi as Katsutoshi Nakazawa, Daisuke Ono as Atsushi Kimishita, Mamoru Miyano as Kiichi Oshiba, Takahiro Sakurai as Yuta Usui, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Hiroyuki Kurusu and Kaito Ishikawa as Tetsuya Nitobe.
