VAP has set the home video release for another short-form kids series with the 2016 property Ahare! Meisaku-kun. The show kicked off in April 2016 and ran for sixteen episodes. It’s being released as a pair of DVD-only releases that will both arrive on May 24th, 2017 priced at 5,000 yen each with a mostly even split. Each disc will also come with an unaired episode as a bonus.
The series was directed by Taketo Shinkai who wrote the stories with Yuki Hirokawa. Jun Oson worked on the character designs and the series was animated by Pie in the sky.
The Japanese cast includes Akiyuki Nasu as Meisaku Matsuda, Kensho Ono as Bolt, Manabu Kaneko as Musubi, Shigeki Nakanishi as Sweets and Taigi Asuwa as Nokio.
Plot concept: Ordinary boy Meisaku Matsuda enrolled Ryūgū Elementary School, a school famous for producing fabled characters, with a hope of becoming fabled himself one day. Soon he found himself surrounded by a group of eccentric — if not outright weird — classmates
