Kaze Deutschland is keeping up its track record of being a bit behind in bringing out trailers for their shows to highlight their dubs for it and Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! Heart Throb is no exception. The series kicked off its release back on September 30th, 2016 and we now have a good listen to the characters in German that’s pretty darn interesting.
Originally airing in 2014, the series was directed by Tatsuya Ishihara based on the series composition by Jukki Hanada. Based on the original work by Torako and Nozomi Ousaka, character designs were handled by Kazumi Ikeda, who also served as the chief animation director at Kyoto Animation for theproduction.
The Japanese cast includes Jun Fukuyama as Yūta Togashi, Maaya Uchida as Rikka Takanashi, Azumi Asakura as Kumin Tsuyuri, Chinatsu Akasaki as Shinka Nibutani, Juri Nagatsuma as Satone Shichimiya, Kikuko Inoue as Nanase Tsukumo, Souichiro Hoshi as Makoto Isshiki and Sumire Uesaka as Sanae Dekomori.
The English cast includes Leraldo Anzaldua as Yuta Togashi, Margaret McDonald as Rikka Takahashi, Brittney Karbowski as Sanae Dekomori, Carli Mosier as Nanase Tsukumo, Christina Kelly as Saotone Shichimiya, Emily Neves as Kumin Tsuyuri, Greg Ayres as Makoto Ishiki, Maggie Flecknoe as Shinka Nibutani and Monica Rial as Kuzuha Togashi.
Plot concept: Yuta Togashi thought he had problems dealing with one delusional girlfriend in the person of Rikka Takanashi, but now things are about to go totally insane as his former “one true soul mate” from when he was a chuni himself returns with a vengeance! So how bad is Satone Shichimiya’s re-entry into Togashi’s chuni-verse likely to be? Let’s just say that she’s so epically off the deep end of the chuni-scale that she prefers to use the name Sophia Ring SP Saturn VII and that she’ll joyfully tear Togashi’s real world to pieces in order to get him back in her imaginary one!
Some girls just want to have fun and some want to break down the walls between their boyfriends and themselves. But when a girl’s idea of fun is breaking down the wall between their presumed boyfriend and reality, retreating into a fantasy world might just be Togashi’s best option. Especially since Satone knows where ALL the skeletons from his past are buried. Toss Rikka’s equally delusional friend Sanae into the mix and girl-crazy begins to take on a whole new meaning!
