The spring 2016 anime series 12-Sai was one of just a handful of shows that didn’t get a simulcast pickup as everything went down this season. This adaptation was directed by Masaharu Okuwaki based on the series composition from Fumi Tsubota. OLM handled the animation production for the series. The cast includes Ai Kakuma as Hanabi Ayase, Soma Saito as Yuuto Takao, Juri Kimura as Yui Aoi, Shun Horie as Kazuma Hiyama, Mayuki Makiguchi as Marin Ogura, Sayuri Hara as Kokoa Hamana and Tetsuya Kakihara as Ayumu Tsutsumi.
The manga from Nao Maita previously had a short-form eight episode OVA series.
Plot concept: The story begins with Hanahi, a sixth-grade girl who is neither an adult nor a child. She deals with issues such as accidentally witnessing her homeroom teacher kissing, and worrying about experiencing physiological changes before her friends. The manga depicts a 12-year-old girl’s innocent worries and first love.
