freedom-volume-1-coverIt looks like Discotek Media has another license rescue, this time from the Bandai Visual library, with the acquisition of the Freedom OVA series. Originally released as an HD-DVD release back in the day, this new release will be a combo DVD/BD project priced at $29.95 and will arrive on April 25th, 2017.

Check out our review of the Blu-ray set here as well as Mark’s look at the show in general through the first and second DVD releases. You can also get another view through the UK DVD release here from Bryan.

Plot concept: In the 23rd century, mankind has fled Earth and emigrated to the moon. The last outpost of civilization is the Lunar Republic of Eden, where the omnipresent Citizens Administration Council grants residents everything they need. But what do you do when you discover everything you believe is a lie? A single photograph with an inscribed message found inside a rocket launched from Earth leads a group of young men to question the counsel ruling the seemingly utopian city. But what length will they go to discover the true meaning of Freedom?
