Daisuki Begins Streaming ‘Aura Battler Dunbine’ Anime

Aura Battler DunbineDaisuki has made a very welcome new addition to their service with Aura Battler Dunbine now available on it. Tagged as exclusive content that won’t be showing up elsewhere on other streaming services, the full 49 episode series is available for premium members to watch in its original Japanese language with English subtitles. The series was directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino back in 1983 with character designs by Tomonori Kogawa and animation from Sunrise.

The Japanese cast includes Shigeru Nakahara as Shou Zama, Hidemi Osaka as Todd Guiness, Kyôko Irokawa as Riml Luft, Makoto Atake as Nee Given, Maria Kawamura as Chum Huau, Mika Doi as Marvel Frozen, Sho Hayami as Barn Bonnings, Shoji Oki as Drake Luft and Yumi Takada as Kean Keats.

The series saw a DVD release last decade from ADV Films with an English language dub directed by Carl Macek. The English cast includes Jay Hickman as Sho Zama, Christine Auten as Marvel Frozen, Emily Carter-Essex as Keen Keats, John Swasey as Bann Burning, Kira Vincent-Davis as Cham Fau, Phil Ross as Drake Luft and Vic Mignogna as Neal Gibbons.

Plot concept: Suddenly, Show finds himself dragged into the world of Byston Well, a realm in between the land and the sea. Once there, he faces endless days of war conducted with humanoid war machines named Aura Battlers. Confronted with the ambitions of those who seek to misuse aura power, the source of all strength, in their attempts to conquer both Byston Well and Upper Earth, Show and his like minded comrades stand against them. Can Show become a truly righteous Battler? Find out in the original fusion of the real robot and knightly fantasy genres!
