Daisuki Adds ‘Heavy Metal L-Gaim’ Anime As Exclusive Content

Heavy Metal L-GaimDaisuki is digging into another classic for some exclusive content on their site with the Heavy Metal L-Gaim anime series. The streaming service has added the full 54 episode series to the service in its original Japanese language with English subtitles for their premium members.

Originally airing in 1984, the series was directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino with character designs by Mamoru Nagano and animation from Sunrise. The Japanese cast includes Hirokazu Hiramatsu as Daba Myroad, Chieko Honda as Amu Fannellia, Houchu Ohtsuka as Mirauu Kyao, Maria Kawamura as Gaw Ha Leccee and Lillis Faw, Sho Hayami as Gavlet Gablae, Asami Mukaidono as Lily Hasshi and Banjou Ginga as Maph McTomin.

Plot concept: In the binary solar system “Pentagona world,” there is a remote planet called Koam. This is where the last of the royal Yarman family, Daba Myroad, will begin his ambitious journey, eventually becoming the leader of a rebel army and fighting the despot Oldna Posaydal, who destroyed his family.

The “heavy metal” mecha of the series, drawn with delicate curves that were unique for the time, make L-Gaim stand out. The series is blessed with the creative talent of multi-designer Mamoru Nagano, who would go on to make The Five Star Stories
