First ‘Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid’ Anime Trailer Is All About The (Sexual) Awakening

Valkyrie Drive Header 2-16Funimation previously set an April 18th, 2017 release date for the Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid anime series as a DVD/BD combo that will be bilingual. With that getting a bit closer they’ve now unveiled the first dubbed trailer for it and it’ll certainly provide a way for you to perk up and wake up this morning as it’s heavy on the fanservice and the moaning.

Extras for the release include the Mini OVA Collection, Episode 03 Commentary, Textless Opening & Closing, Trailers

The English cast includes Mandy Lane as Mirei, Kayla Hardwick as Mamori, Janelle Lutz as Akira, Roseanne Palmer as Kasumi, Monica Rial as Charlotte, Brittney Karbowski as Meifeng, Cecilia Higginbotham as Rain, Haley Esposito as Miyasato, Sara Ragsdale as Kouzuki and Terri Doty as Saejima.

Animated by ARMS, the series was directed by Hikaru Kaneko based on scripts by Yousuke Kuroda. Kaneko also handled the character designs for the series.

The Japanese cast includes Yurika Kubo as Meifon Sakura, Yuna Yoshino as Akira Hiiragi, Masumi Tazawa as Kasumi Shigure, Asami Seto as Charlotte Scherzen, Hitomi Harada as Momoka Sagara, Mikako Izawa as Mamori Shojo, Yuka Iguchi as Mirei Shikishima, Saori Ōnishi as Rein Hasumi, Azumi Asakura as Lady J and Kikuko Inoue as Torino Kazami.

Plot concept: The “beautiful girl sexy battle action” anime is set on five artificial islands. A girl named Mamori Tokonome is transferred to one of those islands, “Mermaid.” When Mamori is attacked, a newly transferred girl named Mirei saves her. The enemy doesn’t stop, however, and the two are soon cornered. Just when they think all hope is lost, Mirei kisses Mamori, and Mamori turns into a sword. Mirei then wields the sword and launches a counterattack against their enemies.
