The casting for Star Trek: Discovery has been bulking up its cast as the overall production feels like it’s further and further away from seeing some real results. The latest comes in the form of three more actors that have joined the project with Terry Serpico (Army Wives, Rescue Me, Sneaky Pete), Maulik Pancholy (30 Rock, Weeds) and Sam Vartholomeos, according to Deadline.
“Serpico will play Admiral Anderson “a high-ranking official of Starfleet.” Pancholy is Dr. Nambue, the Chief Medical Officer of the Starship Shenzhou. And Vartholomeos portrays Ensign Connor, a Junior Officer in Starfleet Academy assigned to the Starship Shenzhou.”
Previous casting includes Sonequa Martin-Green will play Lt. Cmdr. Rainsford, Michelle Yeoh’s as Captain Georgiou, the Starfleet Captain aboard the Starship Shenzhou, Doug Jones as Lr. Saru and Anthony Rapp as Lt. Stamens. Also involved are Chris Obi as T’Kuvma, Shazad Latif as Kol and Mary Chieffo as L’rell.
Alex Kurtzman will serve as executive producer for the new Star Trek TV series. Kurtzman and Heather Kadin will serve as executive producers. Bryan Fuller is on board as showrunner, co-creator and executive producer and Nicholas Meyer is working on some of the scripts.
