Funimation Adds First ‘Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi – World’s Greatest First Love’ Anime Trailer

2 min read

Sekai Ichi Header 2-14Funimation picked up the rights to their first boys-love title with Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi – The World’s Greatest First Love back in December and set a quick release plan for it as it’s due out in just under a month. Ahead of that, they’ve now brought out their first formal trailer for it as the series is being done in its original Japanese language with subtitles only. Extras include the clean opening and closing sequences.

The pickup includes the two TV series that were released as well as the two OVAs that were bundled with the manga releases in Japan. The show saw streaming when they premiered on Crunchyroll, which we covered back in the day of 2011. The release is being planned for a March 7th, 2017 debut and the cover artwork has been released as well.

Viz Media has been releasing the manga through its SubLime Manga imprint since 2015 under the name The World’s Greatest First Love: The Case of Ritsu Onodera.

Plot concept: Tired of accusations that family connections got him his current position, Ritsu Onodera quits his job as an editor at his father’s company and transfers to Marukawa Publishing. Once there, he is assigned to the shojo manga editorial department—something he has no interest in and no experience with! Having sworn he’d never fall in love again, the last thing he wants to do is work on love stories. To make matters worse, it turns out that his overbearing boss, Masamune Takano, is actually his first love from high school!
