Anime Limited Drops ‘Brothers Conflict’ DVD From DVD/BD Combo Release

2 min read

Brothers Conflict Hulu HeaderAnime Limited is making a change to one of their upcoming releases with Brothers Conflict, a title which is currently scheduled for a February 27th, 2017 release. The series was originally planned as a DVD/BD combo release but along with Snow White with the Red Hair and Heavy Object, the series has had its DVD side dropped due to an interesting issue that you don’t see crop up too often.

The reason for this is the requirement by the licensor that the DVD is released in PAL. Unfortunately remastering as a PAL for the DVD release has prohibitive costs that, based on the titles involved and the current level of demand, are difficult to absorb, therefore releasing these on DVD is no longer possible. Unless there were extraordinary demand for these titles on DVD it is very unlikely that DVD releases of these would be explored again in the future. We apologise to those of who were looking forward to the DVD releases of these, but to make this crystal clear, Brothers Conflict […] will be Blu-ray only releases.

The dub cast includes Colleen Clinkenbeard as Ema Asahina, J. Michael Tatum as Masaomi Asahina, Christopher R. Sabat as Ukyo Asahina, Ian Sinclair as Kaname Asahina, Todd Haberkorn as Hikaru Asahina, Micah Solusod as Tsubaki Asahina, Josh Grelle as Azusa Asahina, Kyle Hebert as Natsume Asahina, Jerry Jewell as Louis Asahina ,David Matranga as Subaru Asahina, Eric Vale as Iori Asahina, Matthew Mercer as Yusuke Asahina, Vic Mignogna as Futo Asahina, Bryce Papenbrook as Wataru Asahina, Sonny Strait as Juli, David Wald as Rintaro Hinata, Jamie Marchi as Miwa Asahina, Ricco Fajardo as Kazuma Sasakura and Lindsay Seidel as Mahoko Imai.

FUNimation picked up the home video rights to the TV series back in November 2014 and had planned then for a fall 2015 release, which fell through but was recently scheduled for a March 8th, 2016 debut in both regular and limited edition form. On-disc extras include some episode commentaries and the clean versions of the opening and closing sequences.

Plot concept: Ema Hinata is lonely. As an only child and the daughter of a famous explorer, for most of her life her closest companion has been Juli, her talking pet squirrel. But her father is getting remarried, and her new family is…a little unorthodox. Now, she’s got 13 gorgeous guys as her stepbrothers, and they’re all after her heart! But is romance what she wants, or is it family?
