noitaminA Adds ‘Scum’s Wish’ Anime Recap Promo

Scum's Wish Japanese Volume 1 CoverThe noitaminA channel is doing some new promotion for the Scum’s Wish series now that the fourth episode has aired as of yesterday by putting together a recap promotional piece for what’s come so far. It clocks in at about two minutes and provides for a very good look at the visuals for it and the general tone and mood of the series that’s being streamed by Anime Strike for Amazon.

The show was directed by Masaomi Ando based on the series composition by Makoto Uezu. Keiko Kurosawa served as both the animation director and character designer for it with Lerche handling the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Chika Anzai as Hanabi Yasuraoka, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Mugi Awaya, Haruka Tomatsu as Sanae Ebato, Shiori Izawa as Noriko Kamomebata, Kenji Nojima as Narumi Kanai and Aki Toyosaki as Akane Minagawa.

The original work began in September 2012 in Big Gangan magazine and has done pretty well since then with some creative stories that have garnered some good attention from readers.

Plot concept: 17-year-old Awaya Mugi and Yasuraoka Hanabi appear to be the ideal couple. They are both pretty popular, and they seem to suit each other well. However, outsiders don’t know of the secret they share. Both Mugi and Hanabi have hopeless crushes on someone else, and they are only dating each other to soothe their loneliness. Mugi is in love with Minagawa Akane, a young teacher who used to be his home tutor. Hanabi is also in love with a teacher, a young man who has been a family friend since she was little. In each other, they find a place where they can grieve for the ones they cannot have, and they share a loneliness-driven physical intimacy. Will things stay like this for them forever?
