The winter 2017 anime series Urara Meirocho is having its home video distribution handled by NBC Universal Japan and they’ve set a fairly standard plan. The twelve episode series will be getting a six-volume release that begins on March 24th, 2017. The DVDs are priced at 6,000 yen while the Blu-ray’s are priced at 6,800 yen. The project was directed by Youhei Suzuki based on the series composition by Deko Akao. Mai Otsuka worked on the character designs while the series animation was produced by JC Staff.
The Japanese cast includes Sayaka Harada as Chiya, Yurika Kubo as Koume, Haruka Yoshimura as Nono, Kaede Hondo as Kon, Ai Kayano as Nina, Ayaka Suwa as Saku, Yuka Takakura as Ooshima and Hitomi Sasaki as Shiozawa.
The opening theme is “Yumeji Labyrinth” and is performed by the voice actresses under the name Labyrinth while the ending theme is “go to Romance>>>>>” by Luce Twinkle Wink☆.
The manga itself is a straightforward cute girls doing cute things slice of life series that began in 2014 and has two volumes out with a third out this past May. The work is the third from Harikamo after Flag Breaker and Yorumori no Kuni no Sorani.
Plot concept: Girls from all over the country come to live in Meiro-cho for one reason: to train to become the top uranaishi – the Urara. One day, a 15-year-old girl named Chiya enters the gates, but she has another, secret reason for wanting to become an uranaishi. Together with three
