Tubi TV Begins Streaming ‘Alien Nine’ Anime Series

2 min read

Alien NineBandai Visual is bringing out some more of their shows recently that have seen release in North America before from various distributors and is giving them another lease on life online, even if it’s hard to find a home video copy. The latest to be added is the four part Alien Nine OVA series, which is available in its Japanese language version with English subtitles on the Tubi TV service. The work came out in 2001 to 2002 from JC Staff based upon the three volume 1998 manga of the same name by Hitoshi Tomizawa. The series was originally released by Central Park Media, who also released the two manga series for it as well. The show got picked up for home video release by Hanabee for Australian audiences awhile ago.

Plot concept: Yuri is totally bummed. She just started 6th grade and has been elected to capture and eliminate the aliens that are constantly invading the school…maybe this job wouldn’t be too bad, except it includes wearing gross symbiotic alien helmets that survive by eating the waste material produced from its host body. Yuck! Yuri may be scared of her new position, but she isn’t alone. To help her is the energetic Kasumi and the serious Kumi who both volunteered for their positions in this strange alien party. But why would the school send 6th graders to fight the alien menace? And will their borgs be enough to help them win?!
