‘Godzilla: King of Monsters’ Director Revealed

Michael DoughertyWith a solid run for the Godzilla relaunch a couple of years ago that had director Gareth Edwards jump to Rogue One instead of a sequel, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. have now confirmed the director for the sequel with Michael Doughtery. The second film will be called Godzilla: King of Monstesr is planned for a March 22nd, 2019 debut. It’ll be followed up by Godzilla vs Kong on May 29th, 2017 as they’ll be taking from the Kong: Skull Island film out later this year to tie it all together.

Dougherty isn’t a well known name to be sure as his biggest film was the 2015 release of Krampus. He wrote and directed the 2007 film Trick ‘r Treat, which is getting a sequel, and was a writer on X-Men: Apocalypse as well.
