Toei Animation has been working their broadcast TV series Mahoutsukai Precure! pretty well for the past two cour or so and they’ve got things set for how they want to handle the home video release for it. The property is getting done as a series of four box sets that look to have an average of twelve episodes per set and the second set arrived a few days ago. With that, the cover artwork for it has been set and it looks pretty good! They’re Blu-ray only with each set priced at 23,000 yen where the first one arrived on September 21st, 2016 and the second on January 18th, 2017.

The series is directed by Masato Mitsuka based on the series composition from Isao Murayama and character designs by Emiko Miyamoto. The animation is produced by Toei Animation.

Plot concept: Mirai is a 13-year-old girl who lives in the human word. One day she witnesses a mysterious object fall from the sky into the park. Excitedly, she brings her stuffed bear Mofurun with her to see what it was. When she gets there she sees a girl named Riko flying on a broom. Riko is of the same age and from the magical world. Mirai has a lot of questions, and Riko explains that she’s searching for a jewel with strong powers called “Link Stone Emerald.”

Then Batti, an ally of the dark magic users Dokurokushi, appears before them and demands that Riko hand over the “Link Stone Emerald,” which Riko herself had been looking for. To make things worse, Batti uses dark magic to create a monster known as a Yokubaru! Mirai and Riko join hands and with the magic words “Cure-up Rapapa!” they transform into the legendary Pretty Cure.
