King Records is handling the home video distribution in Japan for the summer 2016 anime series Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru!, which in its simulcast form is localized as This Art Club Has a Problem.With it just a few days until the fifth volume arrives on January 25th, 2017, King Records has now cut us a look at the packaging for it with the cover and jacket for it. The show is getting a standard six-volume release for its twelve episode run that began on September 28th, 2016. The DVDs are priced at 5,800 yen while the Blu-ray releases, listed as limited editions, are priced at 6,800 yen
The series has set Kei Oikawa to direct it based on the series composition from Naruhisa Arakawa. Character designs are being handled by Mai Otsuka with animation coming from studio feel.
The Japanese cast includes Ari Ozawa as Mizuki Usami, Yuusuke Kobayashi as Subaru Uchimaki, Sumire Uesaka as Collette, Nao Touyama as Maria Imari, Nana Mizuki as Yumeko Tachibana, Kentarou Tone as President, Hirohiko Kakegawa as Koyama-sensei, Sora Tokui as Kaori Ayase, Chiaki Shimogama as Sayaka Honda, Kana Marutsuka as Kokugawa Ryouko, Aimi Tanaka as Moka, Mikako Komatsu as Shizuka and Ayane Sakura as Magical Ribbon.
The opening theme “STARTING NOW!” is perforemd by Nana Mizuki while the ending theme “Koisuru Zukei” is performed by Sumire Uesaka.
The manga comes from Muru Imigi as serialized in Dengeki Maoh. The title has been running since 202 and has several volumes in circulation so far.
Plot concept: An ordinary arts club at an ordinary middle school, Tsukimori Middle School. One member, Uchimaki Subaru, wastes his abundant talent trying to draw his perfect 2D waifu. Another, Usami Mizuki, can’t stop thinking about the loser that is Uchimaki-kun. Then there is the club president, who, despite being asleep all the time, seems to care for the two, and another vague, sketchy member, Colette. Today, yet again, in this art club full of mild disappointments, a problem arises.
