First ‘Puzzle & Dragons’ Anime DVD Box Set Artwork Added

2 min read

Puzzle & Dragons Visual 5-31Aniplex Japan is handling the home video release plans for the Puzzle & Dragons series and has added a few more details to it. The first thirteen episodes of the series came out as a DVD-only release back on November 23rd, 2016 and because of how poorly they’ve handled it in terms of marketing, it’s only recently that the cover artwork for it was finally made available in any size to retailers. They also recently set the release plans for the next two box sets with the second set for April 5th, 2017 and the third on May 24th, 2017. It’s also priced for its target audience at just 12,960 yen, which is quite good for that amount of content in Japan, even for a younger audience. The show is being spread across three discs and at the moment there are no on-disc extras listed and the only pack-in extra is a QR code for the game.

The Japanese cast includes Takuto Yoshinaga as Ace, Tetsuya Kakihara as Lance, Tomoko Kaneda as Tamazo, Chika Sakamoto as Devi and Sora Amamiya as Sonia.

The opening theme song is performed by UVERworld while the ending song is performed by Shiori Tomita.

Plot concept: Dorogoza Island is rich in “Drop Energy” that players can use on friendly monsters. Once strong enough, they can face enemies in puzzle wars. Winners reap rewards, but what happens to the losers? Only the brave can take on these monstrous challenges!
