The latest rankings from Japan have arrived with what’s been selling in the manga and light novel markets and it’s a bit of a quiet week in a way. On the manga side, everything in the top ten is second or more week sales with nothing new debuting. That’s good for Blue Exorcist as the new anime is underway and it added another 215,000 units to its sales. once we get past the top ten we see a bit more variety with new books but they’re all in the sub-60,000 range. There are no new series in the top thirty either, which is unfortunate as there’s always the need for new blood.
On the light novel side, a week new round of offerings means that it’s all about the books that have been out for awhile. Kimi no Na wa took the top two spots again and the main book has now broken the 1.35 million mark and will easily hit 1.4 million this month. The only new book in the top ten was the eighth installment of Eromanga-sensei which moved just about 6,200 units.
