Final ‘Blood Lad’ Manga Gets Memorial Trailer

2 min read

Blood LadWe learned back in August that the final installment of Blood Lad was about to hit and the seventeenth and final compiled volume landed at the end of December 2016. That event had anime studio NAZ put together a pretty nice “memorial” trailer for the conclusion of the run that Kadokawa has now put on their channel. The manga series comes from Yuki Kodama and began back in 2009 in the magazine and it currently has sixteen volumes to its name. The book has been picked up by Yen Press previously and they’ve released seven omnibus/2-in-1 volumes of it so far.  An anime adaptation was produced back in 2013 which was simulcast by Viz Media and released on home video in North America by them as well.

You can read our review of the anime series here.

Plot concept: Staz is one of the toughest vampires in the demon world. But unlike his ancestors, he finds being a vampire to be a serious pain and prefers to spend his time watching anime and playing video games instead. When a Japanese girl named Fuyumi wanders into his territory, Staz cannot hide his excitement at finally meeting a living human from his favorite culture. Unfortunately, Fuyumi dies after being swallowed by a monster, leaving her bare soul behind. Staz vows to Fuyumi that he will bring her back to life by any bloody means necessary.
