With a January 21st, 2017 debut planned for the Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic feature that was announced quite awhile ago, the official social media side of the franchise has now dropped a new quick but intriguing TV spot for it. The film is set to delve into the sixth story arc from the original manga that arc ran from the 11th through the 14th volumes of the series. The spot gives us a taste of the theme song “Glass Eye” from SID as well as just enough animation to delight fans that have been following these characters for years.
The film is scheduled for a January 21st, 2017 release with A-1 Pictures handling the animation production. The film is directed by Noriyuki Abe based on the screenplay by Hiroyuki Yoshina. Minako Shiba serves as the chief animation director and character designer.
The film comes after the recent Book of Circus TV series and the Book of Murder OVA series, both of which have been licensed for release by Funimation that saw home video releases earlier this year.
Plot concept: The film is set on the luxury passenger liner Campania and delves into investigating experiments of resurrecting the dead.
