2 min read

Bang Dream HeaderThe anime series for the girl band project BanG Dream had its pickup by Sentai Filmworks recently and they’ve found their first digital distribution partner for it with The Anime Network. The service will be bringing out the first episode on January 21st, 2017 at 9:00 am ET for their subscribers. Availability for it is pretty good as it’s open to viewers in the United States of America, Canada, Turkey, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Netherlands and Latin America.

The project is being directed by Atsushi Ootsuki based on the series composition from Yuniko Ayana. Natsuko Nita is adapting the original character designs done by Hitowa. Issen and Xebec are on board to handle the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Aimi (Aimi Terakawa) as Kasumi Toyama, Ayasa Itou as Arisa Ichigaya, Rimi Nishimoto as Rimi Ushigome, Sae Oozuka as Tae Hanazono and Ayaka Ohashi as Saaya Yamabuki.

Plot concept: The story follows Kasumi Toyama (played by Poppin’ Party’s lead singer, Aimi) when her life changes on the day she finds a star-shaped guitar. Determined to form an all-girl band, her search leads her to four like-minded souls: Saya, Arisa, Rimi, and Tae (all brought to life by the members of Poppin’ Party).
