CW Seed Sets ‘Constantine’ For Animated Revival

1 min read

constantine-aniamtedOne of the best things I’ve enjoyed in the last couple of years on NBC was the thirteen episode run of Constantine on the network. The show took some time to build after reworking its pilot but with a Friday night death slot and no support from NBC, who has done terrible with genre properties before, the series had a relatively quick death. Thankfully, the character as played by Matt Ryan made an appearance on Arrow on the CW last year and fans have been hopeful for some sort of revival for the character, which is now happening.

With Matt Ryan set to return, the Constantine property will be done as an animated web set on the CW Seed platform which also produces the Vixen animated series, which in turn lead to some appearances also on Arrow. The project doesn’t have a planned premiere date yet but it’s being produced by Greg Berlanti, who handles the other CW superhero shows, with David S. Goyer on board as he worked on the live-action incarnation.
