Crunchyroll Adds ‘Minami Kamakura High School Girls Cycling Club’ For Winter 2017 Anime Lineup

minami-visual-12-16After being announced back in the summer of 2015, the anime adaptation of  Noriyuki Matsumoto’s manga series Minami Kamakura High School Girls Cycling Club is almost here!  Crunchyroll has announced their pickup of the series for streaming with a Friday, January 6th, 2017 debut at 12:00pm EST. It’ll be available to members worldwide outside of Asia.

The show is being directed by Susumu Kudo with the series composition from Kurasumi Sunayama. Ryouichi Ooki is serving as the character designer and chief animation director while production is being handled by Genco with JC STaff and ACGT. You can get an idea of the designs from the promo video for the manga that was done in the winter 2013 season below.

The Japanese cast includes Reina Ueda as Hiromi Maiharu, Yuki Hirose as Tomoe Akitsuki, Natsumi Fujiwara as Natsumi Higa, Natsumi Takamori as Fuyune Kamikura, Sayumi Watabe as Shiki Mori, Emiko Takeuchi as Sandy McDougall, Yurika Kubo as Korone Hououji and Yui Fukuo as Yuika Akitsuki.

The work began back in 2011 in Comic Blade with eight volumes released so far.

Plot concept: Maiharu Hiromi has moved to Kamakura Nagasaki, and rides a bicycle to school every day. Then she meets Akizuki Tomoe, the leader of the girls cycling club. She then joins the club and her life gradually begins to change.
