The spring 2016 anime series Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge is getting its home video release through Bandai Visual and they’ve laid out an interesting plan for the twelve episode series. With the seventh and final volume out a couple of days ago, we now have the finalized artwork for it. The show is scheduled for a seven volume release that begins on June 24th, 2016. The first two volumes on Blu-ray are priced at 5,000 yen each while the remainder are 7,000 yen each. The DVD side works with 4,000 yen for the first two and 6,000 yen for the rest. The first two volumes will have one episode each while the remainder will have two episodes each.
Based on the webmanga from Nozomi Uda, the anime was directed by Shinya Kawatsura working off of scripts from Akemi Omode. Haruko Iizuka served as the character designer and it was animated by Silver Link.
The cast includes Kensho Ono as Tanaka, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Oota, Natsumi Takamori as Miyano, Kotori Koiwai as Shiraishi, Ayaka Suwa as Echizen, Aoi Yuuki as Rino Tanaka, Nao Touyama as Saya Oota, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Shimura and Yuuichi Iguchi as Katou.
The series is based on the manga from Uda that began in Gangan Online back in the summer of 2013.
Plot concept: Sighing, leaning on his elbows, sleepy eyes. Tanaka-kun is a boy that basically doesn’t try but isn’t disliked. This is a laid-back youth comedy about Tanaka-kun and the quiet Oota who can’t leave him alone.
