Surprising nobody, a Boruto anime is now on track for an April 2017 premiere as part of the spring season. While no details about the production itself are available, the cast from the feature film will be reprising their roles for this project when it debuts. A visual and the first teaser spot for it has arrived. The sequel manga to the Naruto series is written by Ukyo Kodachi with artwork by Mikio Ikemoto. With it having only two volumes out and being a monthly title, it’s expected to just be used as a launching point and likely going off on its own direction or in parallel to the plans laid out by editorial for the manga and anime.
You can read our review of the first chapter of the manga to see how thrilled we are about this.
Plot concept: Naruto was a young shinobi with an incorrigible knack for mischief. He achieved his dream to become the greatest ninja in the village and his face sits atop the Hokage monument. But this is not his story… A new generation of ninjas are ready to take the stage, led by Naruto’s own son, Boruto! (Source: VIZ Media)
