With word of this coming up earlier this year ahead of the $745 million worldwide take of Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. and DC Comics are going to let the bad girls rule the roost in the next few years. The studio is bringing out Gotham City Sirens as a standalone feature film that focuses on some of the villainesses of the DC Comics world and giving them their chance to stand out. With Margot Robbie set to executive produce and star as Harley Quinn, it’ll also feature a yet to be cast Poison Ivy and Catwoman as well. The project looks to be have been born out of some of the time with Suicide Squad as that director, David Ayer, is on board to direct this film as well. It’ll be written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who has written the Tomb Raider remake and the upcoming Sherlock Holmes 3 film.
No date has been formally set for the film so far and a Suicide Squad sequel is still being developed as is a Deadshot spinoff being explored.
